George Steuart Health announces the appointment of Eran Ranasinghe as Managing Director from January 1st, 2021. Eran will serve as the inaugural Managing Director of the company, following his position as Executive Director since 2012.
The new appointment is the beginning of an exciting new chapter at George Steuart Health. With full responsibility for the leadership and development of the healthcare business of George Steuart, Eran will play a key role in meeting the company’s growth goals on becoming the leading pharmaceutical and medical devices importer in Sri Lanka.
Eran is an alumnus of the S. Thomas’ College - Mount Lavinia. He obtained his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the American University of Asia’s campus which is affiliated to University of Houston Clear Lake Texas. He is a founder member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Development and is also a fellow member of Chartered Professional Managers (FCPM).
He joined the George Steuart family in 1989 as a trainee medical representative, with extensive experience in pharmaceutical dispensing. He has been involved in pharmaceutical marketing since, in various capacities, prior to his board appointment in December 1999 as Director – Training and Field Operations.
Eran is also active board member of the Sri Lanka Chamber of Medical Devices Industry, where he served two years as secretary and three years as president of the chamber.
The GS Health board includes Chairman Dilith Jayaweera, Managing Director Eran Ranasinghe and Directors Sumith Dalpethado, Sanjiva Wijesekera, Thulitha Jayasooriya, Ashiika Karunatilake, Manoj Pilimatalawe and Vasula Premawardhana.
